Great song still rings true today. The orchestra makes a fantastic presentation but I prefer the purity of fewer instruments and voices.

The guitar really expressed just how pissed off we were when those people were murdered. People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of the people.

I wonder if ever they played Kent state campus and played this song. Do any of you remember hearing of the dead on campus , do any of you remember the 1st time you heard “ 4 Desd in Ohio “ !!!!!!!!!!

KSU grad, 1966. Was in graduate school at Maryland on that fateful day. Was walking across campus wearing a rather tattered KSU tee shirt. Someone passing me saw it and asked if I heard what had happened. Had not at that point. In my life, and I’m almost 80, I’ve cried very, very few times in my life. That was one of them.

I have listened to this many times. I like this rendition of Ohio; but I think it lacks the anger of the original version. It is difficult to appreciate the song unless, perhaps, you watched the news on 4-May-1970 or read the papers the next morning. We were at war with government.

I remember when this incredible song was released. The music was magnificent, especially Neil Young's opening guitar riff & later his solo. As for the lyrics, the opening verses totally captured the gravitas of the incident: "Tin soldiers & Nixon coming. We're finally on our own. This summer I hear the drumming. 4 dead in Ohio." In my opinion, the only verse that is a mistake is "Should have been done long ago." But then he follows it with the powerful "What if you found her dead on the ground? How can you run when you know?" Remember the Kent State 4. Gone but not forgotten.

I have just about everything these guys ever did...seen them many times...they're the most affable foursome you'd ever hope to meet...as you can tell, great sense of humor and love for their fan base...Finding the BLUE PAINT DVD video is now rarer than hens teeth or finding a blue apple.

This year I finally drove down to Kent state for the May 4 commemoration ceremonies It was powerful and moving and I hope to attend every year in the future, I met a few of those who were wounded that day and learn much on the weekends events that led up to the shooting, I highly recommend attending especially the eve before for the candlelight vigil Thank you so much for this song

Back in 1970 we had young idealistic people protesting for peace being shot down by the national guard on a college campus. More recently we have brain-washed idiots storming the capital and killing police officers in the name of what? Some lies by a wanna-be tyrant? What the hell has happened to America? Maybe any future similar protests should be met with a show of force similar to that encountered by the Kent State students, none of whom were armed?
